John and Connie Mink invited their fellow members of
the Kentucky Mule Skinners club along with some of their other friends to their farm near Harrodsburg, Kentucky on Saturday
May 13, 2017 for a wagon ride . Most of the participants arrived on Friday evening and camped out
in preparation for the Saturday morning departure. There had been rain much of the day on Friday, but Saturday morning started out looking
absolutely perfect. A total of 7 wagons accompanied by one outrider headed out at 9 AM for a scheduled 23 mile trek around Mercer County in
central Kentucky. Two more wagons were delayed in getting started and joined the group after lunch bringing the total number of wagons to 9.
It was a very pleasant day for a ride with temperatures in the 70's and a slight breeze. When we returned to the farm late in the afternoon,
we were treated to a great dinner of grilled pork that had been in the cooker since Friday afternoon. Sunday was Mothers Day and although John
and Connie had been planning another ride on Sunday, just about everyone had family affairs to tend to on Sunday, so the Sunday ride was cancelled.
I have a few photos from both Friday evening and Sunday morning, but the bulk of the photos are from Saturdays activities. I hope you enjoy
looking at them as much as I enjoyed taking them.
